The short version

Your data is stored securely in your account. We don't sell it or share it — except to send your messages to Anthropic's AI to generate responses. That's it.

What we collect

During onboarding, you share information about your household, routines, and preferences. This data is stored securely in your account on Supabase — an encrypted, SOC 2 compliant database platform. It is tied to your account and accessible only to you.

We also collect your email address to manage your account and subscription. Payment processing is handled by a third-party provider and we do not store your card details.

How we use your data

We use your information only to:

  • Power your AI assistant responses
  • Manage your subscription and send billing emails
  • Respond to support requests

Anthropic's API

Your messages are sent to Anthropic to generate AI responses. Anthropic processes these messages according to their own Privacy Policy. We do not share your data with any other third party.

We don't sell your data

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, ever.

POPIA compliance

Lightened is operated from South Africa and complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Object to the processing of your personal information

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication and billing. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you by email. Continued use of the service after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
